Back with a new #venfaves after rounding my 2017 in my previous 2 faves post!
All these products that I’m gonna talk about are either faves from Dec onwards or newly discovered products I’ve really enjoyed in the month of Jan.
Here’s what I’ve been using in the morning!
Mamonde Moisture Ceramide Light Cream is not a new product, more like a rediscovery for me as I was running out of my usual day gel cream so I brought this out to use. It’s really lightweight despite it having a cream texture (not gel) and it is indeed ‘light’ as its name suggests hahaha so my skin is moisturized and not too tacky that my sunscreen will slip & slide when I apply it as my last step before foundation.
Bobbi Brown Remedies Skin Brightener No. 42 – Luminosity & Radiance Boost, this is like a super light serum and I really don’t feel anything after I’ve applied it. It helps to boost cell turnover and gently exfoliates skin for brighter, clearer complexion. And, it totally works for me!!! My uneven skin tone overall seem more even, still a work in progress but it really seems brighter 🤗 I’ve been having full skin issues but now my skin really seems brighter which makes me SO happy!
For nighttime, this has been my go-to combo! Share on it on ig stories late last night as I was applying it hahaha
I’ve been trying to use sheet mask more often these days and my skin is usually quite plump after that as my steps will be to use toner > 1 or 2 ampoule/serum > sheet mask > combo shown here
I randomly decided to do use the Innisfree Orchid Enriched Cream with the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop one night, and was like woahhhhh by the effect on my skin the next morning! This combi makes my skin moisturized enough that I can skip sleeping mask, which is such a strange thing for me to do, and yet I wake up with bouncy bouncy skin 😍 I noticed my pimple scars fading and just really less dull!!! All thanks to the vitamin drop for sure! Plus I used the skin brightener mentioned above, my pimple scars have faded more quickly and I just really look like I have slightly more translucent skin wheeee
I was initially afraid the enriched cream will be too rich for my skin type as I do get clogged pores very very easily, but it turns out that the texture is like in between a regular cream and yet not really a gel – Which makes it great for a night time cream for combo skin!
Only thing is erm I forgot to apply on my neck also HAHAHA so my neck is tanner than my face omg what a rookie mistake 😂 time to start applying everything down to my neck PLUS apply sunscreen there too
For day time lip balm, I’ve been using the Vaseline Lip Therapy in Rosy lips which was given to me by CJ last year I think? Or was it the year before 😂 randomly took it out to use cause the Fresh one is suddenly causing my lips to peel, or rather like the dead skin just keep coming out even after I wipe it away to apply lipstick as the last time of my makeup routine. This on the other hand, does no such thing! My lips are soft and looks abit rosy using it alone, smells great too!
For makeup, it’s only from the 2 categories I change up the most – Lippies and highlighters
For lip products first, here’s what I love love LOVE for the past month or so
The Bobbi Brown Extra Lip Tint has not left my makeup bag since I’ve gotten it! The tint is very natural and subtle, the fine shimmers inside adds more dimension to the lips, making it looks like I have gloss on when it’s actually just a special balm. I’m using it again today even when I have all the time in the world to pick a new lippie to use. That’s why you know that I truly like it!
The Laneige Two Tone Matte Lip Bars have been my go-to matte lipstick for the past few weeks and even though I didn’t get it at the start of the month, it’s no doubt in my faves at the rate I’m using them hahaha my fave shade in the 6 new shades mentioned previously has to be No.7 Apricot Candy which came as a surprise as I’m usually more of a pink/nude shade lippie person. The matte lip bars are so effortless to use and very very velvety & comfy 😍 go try one if you haven’t already
The Peripera Airy Ink Velvet is no stranger here and I’ve been using it quite abit at the first few weeks of Jan. I even use it to layer on top of the matte lip bars for a more intense long lasting gradient lips look! They are mouse-y yet looks matte, so very comfortable. I really go for comfort these days, painfully dry matte lippies don’t appeal to me anymore. Anw the airy ink velvet lippies are top shelf products! I reach for them more than I know hahaha
Last 2 products are highlighters and holy mama I’ve been using these NON-STOP!!!! 😱
Was never that into gold highlighters, in fact I like to change them up a lot. Yet somehow these are what I alternate between on most days. First is the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Moon Glow, which looks like it’s gonna be yellow on the skin but because of how their highlighting powders are more on the soft (yet still obvious lol) side, it blends into my skin super well. Doesn’t look too much y’know
As for the Maybelline Master Chrome Highlighter, it’s just WAM BAM in your face highlight ✨ it makes sure it is known ok hahahaha and I have to admit, the glitter is on the more obvious side and may emphasize texture more. However, I love the glow it gives and almost gives you a bronzy ~vibe~. It may be too dark if you’re fairer than me so do take note of that! It’ll stay on my vanity table for awhile for sure hahaha
That’s all for my Jan faves! Not sure if I’ll consistently do such faves post but I’ll try okie. Not every month I’ll have enough new stuff to share or maybe not even have the time to sit down and type out.
